In order to do business on the web (and even offline these days) you’re going to need a website. Your website is not only the cornerstone of your online marketing; it is your business’s identity on the internet, your online storefront and sometimes is the first introduction someone has to your business, products and services. it is also a place you can communicate and sell to past, current and future clients, advertise your products or services, promote your business and allow prospective customers easily find you.
Your website is also your 24 hour employee, and if designed properly, is like having your company’s best salesperson stationed at the cash register, ready to serve any customer, any time. Plus, they don’t complain, ask for time off or call in sick. Bonus!
Just like you would expect of any employee, you will want your website to be neat and tidy, easy to understand and ready to make sales. Just like a sloppy and disorganized employees, a confusing, slow and unattractive website can scare off a customer before you even knew they were there.
Luckily there are a few options in front of you when it comes to “getting a website” for your business; some of which are even free! Whether you are the type of person that likes to do it all yourself, or one that wants it done for you; this page will give you all the info and resources you need to start building your online presence today.

WordPress is a Website CMS (Content Management System) for the beginner to intermediate user, and comes in two different versions. WordPress.com is a hosted service (similar to Wix) where you can set up a free basic Website or a Blog with limited functionality, but it required paid upgrades to add features and to use a Custom Domain Name. WordPress.org is self hosted version of WordPress that you can download and install on your own hosting service. It has tons more functionality, can be vastly expanded through the use of plugins and is the engine that many modern websites are built on. We will be providing written and video tutorials on how to set up your own self-hosted WordPress site here very soon.
Hire A Professional (Like Me)
Another option available to you is to hire a professional Web Designer or Web Developer to do it for you. You would most likely choose this option if you were pressed for time and rather not have to learn a whole new skill-set. The fact is sometimes it makes more sense working on your business rather then in your business, right? These services can range anywhere from the hundreds to the tens of thousands depending on what you are looking for. Just like the above examples you can have anything from a simple blog site to a full-blown eCommerce Retail store, but the trade off is time, knowledge and experience as the above two options do have learning curves.
